🔄 How to Re-enable a Phone Number Disabled by Meta on WhatsApp Business

If your WhatsApp Business number has been disabled by Meta, it’s usually due to violations of WhatsApp’s policies, suspicious activity, or incomplete business verification. Don’t worry — you can appeal and re-enable your number by following these steps.

🛑 Why Does This Happen?

Your number may be disabled due to:

  • Policy violations (spammy messages, non-compliant templates)

  • High user report rates

  • Suspicious activity

  • Incomplete Business Verification

✅ Steps to Re-enable a Disabled Number

Step 1: Log in to WhatsApp Business Manager

  • Go to https://business.facebook.com/ and log in with the admin account connected to your business.

  • Navigate to Business Settings > Accounts > WhatsApp Accounts.

Step 2: Locate the Disabled Number

  • Click on your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA).

  • Under the Phone Numbers section, locate the number that shows a “Disabled” or “Restricted” status.

Step 3: Click on Appeal or Request Review

  • You’ll see a banner or alert on the disabled number’s details page.

  • Click the “Appeal” or “Request a Review” button.

Step 4: Fill Out the Appeal Form

  • Clearly explain your case. Example:

"We believe the disabling of our number may have been due to a misunderstanding. We use WhatsApp only for customer engagement and follow Meta's policies."

  • Submit the form.

Step 5: Complete Business Verification (If Pending)

  • If your business is not yet verified, Meta may ask you to complete it.

  • Go to Business Settings > Security Center and complete the Business Verification process:

    • Upload documents (GST, PAN, Certificate of Incorporation, etc.)

    • Verify business details (name, address, phone)

Step 6: Wait for Response from Meta

  • Meta usually responds within 24–72 hours.

  • You’ll be notified via the Business Manager or email with the outcome.

Step 7: Once Approved, Reconnect Your Number

  • After your number is re-enabled:

    • Go to your WhatsApp BSP (like Wabo)

    • Reconnect or re-sync the number through the platform dashboard.

🟡 Additional Tips

  • Ensure your message templates are compliant.

  • Avoid sending bulk promotional messages without user consent.

  • Use utility or transactional templates for better delivery and compliance.
