Create and Schedule a WhatsApp Broadcast with Retries

This guide explains how to create a WhatsApp Broadcast in Wabo.ai, select recipients using multiple methods, apply filters, schedule the broadcast, enable retries, and review broadcast performance.

What You Can Do in This Flow

  • Send WhatsApp broadcasts using approved templates

  • Target contacts via Contacts, Marketing Lists, CSV uploads, or Segments

  • Apply AND / OR condition filters

  • Schedule broadcasts for a later date and time

  • Enable automatic retries for failed messages

  • Track delivery status and export broadcast logs

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Create a Broadcast

  1. Log in to Wabo.ai.

  2. Go to the Broadcasts module.

  3. Click Create Broadcast.

  4. Enter a Broadcast Name.

  5. Select a WhatsApp Template.

  6. Click Continue to view the template preview.

Step 2: Choose Broadcast Audience

You can send broadcasts using any one of the following methods:

Option A: Broadcast to Contacts

  1. Select Broadcast to Contacts.

  2. Use the search bar to find specific contacts.

  3. Click the Filter icon to apply conditions.

  4. Choose AND / OR logic:

  • AND → All conditions must be true

  • OR → Any condition can be true

  1. Select a Contact Property (e.g., First Name).

  2. Choose a Condition Operator (e.g., Is not empty).

  3. Add more conditions if required.

  4. Click Save to apply filters.

Only contacts matching these conditions will be included.

Option B: Broadcast to Marketing List

  1. Select Broadcast to Marketing List.

  2. Click Select a List.

  3. Choose the preferred list (e.g., Sample File).

Option C: Broadcast via CSV

  1. Select Broadcast via CSV.

  2. Upload the CSV file.

  3. Click Refer Sample File to verify the correct format.

Note: Mobile Number and Country Code are mandatory. Duplicate and empty rows are ignored.

Option D: Broadcast to Segments

  1. Select Broadcast to Segments.

  2. Choose the required segment (e.g., Pune).

Step 3: Review Cost & Configure Template

  1. Click Continue.

  2. Review the Estimated Campaign Cost, wallet balance, and eligible contacts.

  3. Upload the required image (if applicable).

  4. Map template buttons or flows if required.

  5. Click Continue.

Step 4: Test the Template

  1. Enter a test phone number (with country code).

  2. Click Send Test to verify the message.

Step 5: Send or Schedule the Broadcast

  1. Choose Broadcast Now to send immediately
    OR

  2. Select Schedule Broadcast.

  3. Choose the Date and Time.

  4. Click OK.

Step 6: Enable Activate Retries (Optional)

  1. Enable the Activate Retries toggle.

  2. Choose retry duration:

  • After 3 days

  • After 7 days

  • Or set a Custom End Date

  1. Click Schedule Broadcast.

Activate Retries – Important Notes

  • Retries do not add extra cost.

  • Retries apply only to messages failed due to Meta’s frequency capping.

  • Retry attempts happen once every 24 hours.

  • Retries stop automatically on the selected end date (max 7 days).

Step 7: Track & Export Broadcast Performance

  1. Go to Broadcast List.

  2. Open the required broadcast.

  3. View Overview for template analytics.

  4. Go to Logs to see:

  • Sent

  • Delivered

  • Read

  • Failed

  • Source

  1. Click Export to download broadcast logs from the Export History page.
