How to Use Multilingual Language in Wabo.ai

Adding multiple languages to your WhatsApp chatbot helps you connect with customers in their preferred language and improve engagement.
Wabo.ai lets you easily configure up to 12 secondary languages — such as Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and more — directly from your bot settings.

Follow these simple steps to add, translate, and activate multilingual support for your WhatsApp chatbot.

Step 1: Log In to Wabo.ai

  • Go to Wabo.ai and log in using your credentials.
  • You will land on your main dashboard.

Step 2: Go to the Bot Builder Module

  • From the dashboard click on Bot Builder module.
  • This section lists all your WhatsApp chatbots.

Step 3: Select Your Chatbot

  • Click on the chatbot you want to make multilingual.
  • Then, click Manage to open the chatbot configuration page.

Step 4: Open the Configure Tab

  • Inside your chatbot settings, go to the Configure tab.
  • Under configuration options, click on Conversations.

Step 5: Go to Language Settings

  • Scroll down and click on Language Settings.
  • This section allows you to manage all secondary languages.

Step 6: Add Secondary Languages

  • Click on Add Language.
  • Choose the secondary languages you want to enable (up to 12).
For example: Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, etc.
  • Then click Save.

Step 7: Download Translation Files

  • Click on Download Translation for each language you added.
  • The file will contain all chatbot messages in English for translation.

Step 8: Translate Using Google Sheets

  • Open the downloaded file in Google Sheets.
  • In the translation column-Translated Text(hindi or language user has selected), use the Google Translate formula:
=GOOGLETRANSLATE(<source_cell>,"en","<target_language_code>")

Example:

  • Hindi → =GOOGLETRANSLATE(A2,"en","hi")

  • Marathi → =GOOGLETRANSLATE(A2,"en","mr")

Press Enter, then drag down to rest of that particular column cells to translate all messages automatically.

Step 9: Review Translated Text

  • Check the translated text for accuracy.
  • Ensure product names and placeholders (like {{name}}) remain unchanged.

Step 10: Upload Translated Files

  • Go back to Wabo.ai and click Upload File.
  • Upload each translated file for its respective language.

Step 11: Add a Custom Language Message

In the Custom Message field, write the welcome text that lets users select their preferred language.
Example:
“Please choose your language: English | हिन्दी | मराठी | தமிழ்”

Step 12: Publish the Chatbot

  • Click Publish to make your multilingual chatbot live.
  • Your bot will now show a language selection message when users start a chat.

Step 13: Test the Language Selection

  • Go to your connected WhatsApp number.
  • Start a new chat and select a language (for example, Hindi or Marathi etc).
  • Check that the conversation appears in the selected language.

Step 14: View Chats in Inbox

Go to the Inbox Module in Wabo.ai.
Here, you can view user conversations in the chosen language.
