Use Actions in an Automation Journey – Wabo.ai

In Wabo.ai's Automation Journey, the flow works in three main steps:

TRIGGER → CONDITION → ACTION

Once you've defined the trigger and checked the conditions, it’s time to set the Action — i.e., what should happen when a contact qualifies.

🎯 What Are Actions?

Actions are the steps taken after conditions are met in your automation journey. These actions allow you to send messages, update data, or call external systems to drive engagement.

⚙️ Types of Actions in Wabo.ai

1. Add Delay

You can pause the journey for a certain time before taking the next step.

📌 Example: Wait 2 days before sending a reminder message.
You can delay by:

  • Minutes

  • Hours

  • Days

2. Call API

Use this to make an external API call.

📌 Example: Notify an external CRM that a lead has been qualified.
You can:

  • Add the request URL

  • Choose the method (GET, POST, etc.)

  • Customize the payload to send contact data

3. Update Contact

This action lets you update contact details within Wabo.

📌 Example: Mark a contact’s lifecycle stage as “Qualified” after a successful call.

4. Add to List

Add the contact to a specific marketing list for future campaigns.

📌 Example: After a form submission, add the contact to the “Interested Users” list.

5. Remove from a List

Automatically remove a contact from a list.

📌 Example: Remove from “New Leads” list once they move to “Engaged Leads”.

6. Send WhatsApp

Send a WhatsApp message or template directly to the contact.

📌 Example: Send a confirmation message after they sign up for a webinar.

You can select:

  • WhatsApp templates

  • Add dynamic variables

  • Set language and namespace

Why Are Actions Important?

Actions make your automation actually do the work—keeping your team hands-free while staying connected with contacts at the right time, with the right message.
